Who We Are

Mission Statement:
The Waco Regional Baptist Association is a voluntary network of Baptist churches in Central Texas who have chosen to cooperate in order to extend and embody the good news of Jesus Christ.

Values:

  • Strong, healthy churches
  • Church-based, holistic ministries serving the congregation and the community
  • Mobilized congregations ministering and sharing the gospel locally and globally
  • Racial and ethnic diversity
  • Local church autonomy
  • Voluntary cooperation

Goals for 2011 through 2015:

  1. Church Starting
This is a goal to lead strong congregations to plant new churches in neighborhoods where existing churches failed to transition with the community and have closed or are near closure. One way this goal is met is with Discover!, a group that conducts community needs assessments.
  2. Church Strengthening
This is a goal to develop and employ a specific process lasting a maximum of five months that supports and equips the congregation, pastor, staff and lay leadership with intention of sustaining church growth for the following five years.
  3. Pastor Fellowship
This goal is to pursue the formation and support of regionally based covenant groups among pastors and staff of WRBA churches.
  4. Community Ministries
This goal is to direct community ministries of the WRBA toward a church-based model. This can be done by educating and equipping church volunteers, networking churches to organizations involved in community ministries, and by assisting at the associational level.
  5. Networking in Missions
This goal is to facilitate the involvement of WRBA churches and individual members in the global and local missions by connecting them with other congregations that are already engaged.
